April 12, 2026 - Second Sunday of Easter or of Divine Mercy
Dear brothers and sisters, the episode of the Risen Jesus' encounter with the Apostle Thomas, recounted in the passage from the Gospel of John that we’re going to listen to on Sunday, April 12, helps us understand that only the experience of God's merciful love can give birth to and strengthen faith, this sort of, so to speak, “divine-profound-vision-of-reality mode”, in our hearts, that leads us to recognize Jesus as the Lord and God of our lives!
In fact, only the greater power of God's merciful love can free us from the diabolical illusion of being god and capable of being and doing whatever we want.
Only the greater power of God's merciful love helps us acquire that "divine style" of life marked not by pride, but by humility; not by violence and oppression, but by meekness; not in the narcissistic pursuit of power, success, and visibility at any cost, but in constant spiritual “training” to achieve an ever simple, peaceful, joyful and pure heart…
