A 'ritual concert' featuring shamanic elements was held inside a medieval Spanish church. On September 18, Barcelona’s Romanesque church of Sant Pau del Camp hosted a “ritual concert” by Kuyay Santosha. The event featured ancestral chants, improvisation and music presented as a bridge between the human and "the sacred". Santosha describes her work through healing music, ancient spiritual ritual, and uses instruments including a shamanic drum. Tickets cost €25. Sant Pau del Camp is being used for the Novus Ordo.
Archbishop Luc Terlinden of Mechelen-Brussels, president of the Belgian Bishops’ Conference, attended the opening Eucharist of the Catholic University of Leuven on 16 September. He took a seat in the front row at St Peter's Church in Leuven. During this Novus Ordo, verses from the Quran (26:69–70) were chanted in Arabic. The liturgy also included contributions from the Jewish, Protestant and Anglican communities. A university representative informed AdVaticanum that the University Parish's decision to incorporate interreligious contributions had been made "in consultation with the Rectorate and the Flemish bishops". The Eucharist was presided over by Jesuit Fr Jacques Haers.

A bakery in Chiclayo, Peru, has launched “Dulce Bendición,” a Pope-shaped version of King Kong. This local dessert is made from layers of biscuit and manjar blanco, a milk-caramel filling. The first 500, shaped like Pope Leo XIV, sold out on launch day. The bakery plans to make up to 1,000 a day in November, when Leo XIV visits Peru.

The Vatican has released the programme for Leo XIV’s visit to Latin America, his longest foreign trip to date. On Monday, the Vatican released the detailed itinerary for Leo XIV’s November 6–17 visit to Uruguay, Argentina and Peru. Over nearly 12 days, Leo XIV will travel roughly 31,000 kilometres by air, with stops in: - Montevideo, Paysandú and Florida in Uruguay; - Buenos Aires, Córdoba and Luján in Argentina; - Lima, Chiclayo, Cusco and Pucallpa in Peru. The packed schedule includes nine public Masses and three prayer vigils, as well as meetings with political leaders, bishops, clergy, young people, workers and representatives of other Christian communities and religions. Cardinal Reinhard Marx, 73, of Munich promised Francis to bring Germany’s Synodal Path together with the universal Church’s synodal process. He told Katholisch.de: “I promised Pope Francis at the time that I would personally advocate for the Synodal Path in Germany to come together with the universal Church’s synodal process.” Cardinal Marx also argued that the German process cannot simply conclude by sending demands to Rome. Instead, the focus should be on what the Church in Germany can do itself, particularly at diocesan level. He stressed that the diocese, rather than a national structure, should be the central arena for synodality.

The Vatican's missal for the Pope’s September 25–28 apostolic journey confirms that all three papal Masses - Paris, Lourdes and Metz - will use Eucharistic Prayer III. The ancient Roman Canon, Eucharistic Prayer I, is absent. At Lourdes on Sunday, the liturgy will include the Gloria de Angelis, Credo III, Latin Sanctus and Agnus Dei, and sprinkling with water drawn from Massabielle.
