Today, Leo XIV has appointed Fr Alfonso María Bauer Ormazábal SDB as the new Bishop of Florida, Uruguay. Born in Montevideo in 1968 and ordained in 1996, Monsignor Bauer is a Salesian with experience in formation and youth ministry. He holds a Licentiate in Spiritual Theology from the Pontifical Salesian University in Rome. He served as provincial of the Salesians in Uruguay from 2018 to 2024. Monsignor Bauer has published many short videos on social media in which he is dressed in civilian clothing (see the screenshots below). We have a Liberation-Theology-indoctrinated cute & nice guy as pope, so he's much more dangerous than Francis, who was so nasty only his fellow travelers could stand to listen to him. I'm beginning to fear that he might just succeed in finishing off the Church as God intended it to be and succeed in replacing it with a "church" based on man's basest desires and dumbest delusions. Even those who I thought had the grit to never be taken in by (or acquiesce to) his dismantling of the Church seem to now be genuflecting before him. Definitely feeling more and more hopeless.
